Bear Family Records has a reputation for using first generation tapes as their sources. Unfortunately this isn't true within this eclectic compilation released on vinyl in 1988.  Sadly, all recordings here are released in MONAURAL despite the fact that many were recorded in either binaural or true stereo. The label has declined comment.
