Double format had long been discontinued in North America
- when this
Compact Grand Prix Series was apparently released in Japan circa 1968.
- Perry's 1955 recording of "The Rose Tattoo" has always been one
of his most favourite
- songs in Japan and, surprisingly, he never recorded
it again. When he toured Japan
- in the late 1970s he was coaxed to sing it
within his live performances but the
- recording of it had long left his
memory. This late 1960s release featured the song
- as did many of his Japan
compilations even to this day.
