Notes: ~ This song was included within a tribute to Bing Crosby which Perry performed several times
in live performance and on his well known television specials throughout the 1980s. The tribute was
again featured in live performance on a 1989 PBS television special with the Boston Pops and
John Williams which included an encore performance with Perry singing
"The Wind Beneath My Wings" interspersed with Crosby and Como video footage
from their 1960 television shows where each was the guest of the other.
This PBS Special was repeated many times during the years following.
Bing Crosby 'Tribute' Medley
Notes: ~ Also known as "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive," this song was introduced by Bing Crosby and
Sunny Tufts in the 1944 Hollywood musical "Here Come the Waves." It was nominated for an Academy Award.
Best-selling records by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters (Decca), and Johnny Mercer (Capitol). Artie Shaw,
vocal by Imogene Lynn (Victor), and Kay Kyser, vocal by Dorothy Mitchell (Columbia), also had popular recordings.
The song was on "Your Hit Parade" for thirteen weeks, four times as #1. Perry recorded this song in early 1958
for one of his very first full stereophonic albums as noted above.
