Notes: ~ One of Irving Berlin's ballad classics. It was published as a non-production song
and is listed that way in the Berlin catalog, even though it was interpolated by Grace Moore
in the Stage Musical "Music Box Revue" after the opening. The song was sung by a chorus
in "Alexander's Ragtime Band" in 1938; it was sung by Danny Thomas in "Big City", 1948;
and was prominently used as the background theme throughout "The Great Gatsby" in 1974.
In addition to Perry's recording in 1947, other popular recordings by Paul Whiteman for
RCA Victor and Decca, Henry Burr and Marcia Freer, also for RCA Victor, Art Lund for MGM,
Nat King Cole and Giselle McKenzie for Capitol, and Frank Sinatra for Columbia.
