Bee Walker
There are three different songs called "Please Believe Me". The oldest of the three, recorded by Perry in 1949, was written by Bee Walker & Bob Merrill. It is assumed that Walker wrote the words and Merrill wrote the music. The label also says: introduced by Perry Como on his "NBC Chesterfield Supper Club". He probably recorded it soon after that. The second version one was recorded by Jerry Vale and written by P. Insetta. This song was released on a Columbia 45rpm single. The third version was recorded by Jimmy Roselli, with music written by Luigi Tenco and lyrics Al Stillman. This song was released on a United Artists 45rpm single (in mono), and on LP in stereo. ( This background information was provided by Fred J. Desjarlais ( Fred Day ), a professional singer in his own right, from Florida. ) |
