This album was Perry's first full length album recorded specifically for the new 12" LP format including twelve songs in place of eight. Arrangements are by Joe Lipman, Joe Reisman and Jack Andrews and the chorus is officially listed as The Ray Charles Singers. Ray Charles would be Perry's choral director for the next thirty years for both television and recordings and the significance of his contribution would be difficult to over estimate. The producer and recording engineer for these recordings is unknown but this is Perry's first album of many recorded at Webster Hall, New York City. |
