| Recorded in April, 1959, one year following Perry's first two spectacular stereo albums, these recordings clearly indicate a design to one-up the previous tracks and to highlight Perry's ability to "swing" in big-band style for the stereo hi-fi era. With these arrangements, Perry comfortably shed his "dream along with me" image once and for all, but he still pulls it off with relative ease. Despite the fact that they appear to have been remastered well, there has always been a strong suspicion that there's more on the master tapes than revealed so far with conventional releases. With the future promise of high resolution digital recording, the next reference standard after compact disc, these are the recordings to watch! |
