The original Perry Como Discography, first assembled in 1987, was published privately in 1992 and revised in 1993. The digital HTML version was posted in 1997 continuing as a work in progress to date.

This online discography has now received "hits" in excess of 30 million from fans and those interested in the Como legacy world wide. From the beginning, it has been available to anyone free of charge with no advertising solicited. With the help of numerous contributors the accuracy has improved from revision to revision over the years. There are over 100,000 links within the current discography and all corrections and observations are welcomed.

In 1934 a USA branch of Decca was launched, which quickly became a major player in the depressed United States record market thanks to it's roster of popular artists . . . including Perry Como who was then a featured vocalist with The Ted Weems Orchestra.

WW-II Army & Navy Program

At the beginning of World War II, the War department, through the Army Services Forces —
Special Services Division, distributed thousands of shellac phonograph records (V DISCS)
to Army Forces throughout the world. Shortly after the Army's program started, the U.S. Navy
became involved in the program, appointing E.P. DiGiannantonio to run the Navy, Marine
and Coast Guard programs.
