Notes: ~ This song was recorded by Perry for the 1948 musical "Words and Music" referred to as the Rodgers and Hart story.  The recording was dropped from the final production but heard orchestrally under the titles. The song was originally introduced in the 1932 Hollywood Musical "Love Me Tonight"  by Jeanette MacDonald. It was also sung by Gloria Jean in the 1943 Hollywood Musical "Moonlight in Vermont" prior to its use in the 1948 Rodgers and Hart biography. Peggy Lee had a million-seller for Capitol Records in 1952 and sang it in the 1953 Hollywood Musical "The Jazz Singer". Although Perry independently recorded other songs from the 1948 Hollywood Musical, including "Blue Room" and "With a Song In My Heart", he never made an RCA Victor recording of "Mountain Greenery". This was the last feature film within which he appeared, others including "Something for the Boys" 1944, "Doll Face" 1945 and "If I'm Lucky" 1946. Songs featuring Perry within his films were recorded independently of the record label. Those released by RCA were re-recorded. In addition to this song, another one not recorded was "In the Middle of Nowhere" composed by Jimmy McHugh and Harold Adamson and featured within his 1944 film debut "Something for the Boys".
