This 45 RPM Extended Play compilation features four selections from Perry's 1959 LP "
released in France. Recordings during this period were often released in several formats, the short-lived 10" LP
was being replaced by the larger 12" format record but there still existed a large market for 78s, 45s
and the 45 Extended Play album and this would continue to approximately 1960.
All tracks in this compilation were monaural.
Within some or all pressings of this EP Side Two Track 1 actually contains the song "
To Know You (Is to Love You)
from the '59 album "Como Swings" replacing the listed track "St. Louis Blues" in an apparent error. The error may well
have been caused inadvertently due to the fact that both songs occupied the first track for sides 1 & 2 of the original
LP master tapes respectively. More likely, however, is that these songs were transcribed from sides 1 & 2 of the LP record
which appears to have been a habit within foreign markets. As a matter of interest, the included song "To Know You (Is to Love You)"
includes an uncredited partial duet with Perry's long serving Choral Director Ray Charles as was the case with his 1958
popular release "
